The joy of talking to people you don't know

So SigEp has a scholarship that we give out to freshmen males each year. They apply just as the finish high school and then we interview them during the summer. Well we just started interviewing the guys in my area. They're pretty cool guys, but it's awkward to try to get them to talk. And to make it worse, two of the three said that they were kinda shy so granted I could relate being somewhat shy myself (at least around people I don't know well) but that really makes it hard to interview them and probe them for answers, but so far they're doing good.

I'm also in the middle of planning my exec board retreat. You really don't want to know how much fun that is. It's a lot of thinking about things that you have no idea how they are going to go so I have to try to cover every base of what could happen. So much work, but I think it will pay off quite well. The chapter will really benefit with the new direction that we'll have. There will be a good balance of things to help them develop for the betterment of themselves, the chapter, and the community as well as have some fun too. They should really like it. I know I'm excited.
